Our Journey

  • Organizing Aviation Safety Seminar at 10 upto 12 July 2007, Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta supported by Boeing, Airbus, Rolls Royce and General Electrics.
  • Being active in SEARIF ( South East Asia Regional Initiative Forum ) which is a forum developed as a replacement of the EU-SEA Civil Aviation Project with the support of European partners such as EASA & Industry partnership (ASD International Program) to establish regulatory convergence and technical standardization in South East Asia.
  • Sponsoring & organizing coaching seminar “Introduction to SMS & Risk Management in Air Operator”, in coordination with SEARIF. Presented by J. Nisula, Manager Airline Safety Management System Flight Operations Support & Services –AIRBUS.
  • Organizing Workshop Training “MEDA (Maintenance Error Decision Aid) and REDA (Ramp Error Decision Aid)”, with William L. Rankin Ph.D., BOEING as instructor in Jakarta at 14 March 2008.
  • GMF also has a plan to organize an ICAO – SMS course at 5 – 9 of May 2008 in Jakarta.
  • GMF actively participate in the International Aviation Safety Conference (previously known as “JAA-FAA Harmonization”, hosted by FAA & JAA/EASA to get all latest information and issues related to Aviation Safety.

Some activities that have been performed

  • Establishment of Safety Policy which covers all requirements of Safety Management System.
  • Establishment of “acceptable and unacceptable behaviour” policy as a start point to SMS Implementation.
  • Gap Analysis to detect differences between requirements and real conditions and to set up the plan for fulfillment.
  • SMS Awareness for All Top Management personnel.
  • 236 persons (General Managers, Managers, Engineers, Inspectors and Auditors) have attended SMS Awareness. The rest 101 persons will be scheduled in May 2008.

  • Development of SMS Manual.
  • Development of ERP (Emergency Response Plan).
