PT GMF Aeroasia Tbk won an award at the prestigious MRO Asia Pacific event on 24-26 September 2019 at the Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Center. In the event organized by Aviation Week which is also one of the largest aviation news media in the world, GMF received an award as the Top 9 Global Airframe MRO of the Year 2019.

We, as GMF employees, should rightly rejoice in the award and do not dissolve in euphoria, because GMF's journey to achieve its vision of becoming a global top 10 MRO is not easy and full of obstacles.

Intense market competition requires every company to design appropriate strategies in order to grow and be a winner. One of the strategies that can be selected is to establish joint operation method to improve the level of competitiveness and targeting a wider market. To preclude business development from operational disruption and jeopardize safety, hazard identification and risk assessment are required to be performed at the first business was planned.

MRO industry knows HIRAM (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment & Mitigation) as a method to identify hazard and how to do mitigation. The method is stressing the importance of hazard to be early identify so it can be mitigated to prevent the operational problem. Unidentified hazard is not only become a threat, but also can be a resistance for the achievement of business expansion goals through joint operation.

A proper HIRAM implementation in every development of business program will make positive impacts on the smoothness of development process and continuance of business operations. With less interference and risk of danger, developed business opportunities will be going well even greater. Moreover, it will be more opportunity to maintain the safety and quality level of products with early hazard mitigation.
